Survey: Future in students' eyes

Is it really easy to be a student? Are all students satisfied with the changes they had to have after the school? Are they sure they made a right choice? Actually these questions are rather vital and I decided to pay attention to them.
In my survey “Future profession” about 200 students were involved. There were young people of different ages (17-25) who were offered some questions.

Firstly, I was interested to know about the student’s choices: did they make it consciously or they were indifferent?

According to the results, the majority of the questioned were sure in their actions. To my mind the number of “disagreed” with the first statement is quite high. We can see even 2% of “strongly disagreed” that means young people don’t enjoy their occupation now.

No doubt the most often question to every student is if they are going to link their future job with their diploma. Nowadays the most common is “no”. I could not but include such a question.

The results show quite high percentage of students having a wish to connect the future job with the speciality, at least they are going to try. About 20% are not sure but more than 10% will choose another sphere of the future occupation.
Someone regrets of the choice he/she made, someone is happy but no doubt, every one hesitated what faculty to choose. If it was really difficult or maybe not difficult at all we can find out due to the results of the next diagram:

As we can see about 50% of participants didn’t have any difficulties. But about 40% agreed it was hard. There were those who were indifferent – 10% of participants didn’t care and from my point of view this grade is rather high.

In the end, it is impossible to miss the question about satisfaction. Unfortunately it is not a surprise students don’t like the quality of education or they are disappointed in teachers’ skills etc. This survey also contained such a question.

The diagram shows more than 50% of students are satisfied with everything. More than 20% still don’t know if they were right to have made such a choice. Surprisingly the grade of “disagreed” is rather low – about 15% don’t like the occupation.

Thus according to the results of this survey I can break the stereotypes about students. It is not true they don’t think about their future or choose the speciality thinking to choose just anything. If to believe this survey most of young people don’t complain about the process of education and even  will try themselves in chosen occupation.
Let’s believe in our young and wish them good luck.

How to make the right choice?

Finish school, enter a university then find a job which is slightly connected with your diploma… That is typical and imposed by society course of events for most Russian youngsters . But do they really want to get a higher education ? And how serious and responsible they must be at the moment of choosing a university?

On the 3rd of November I conducted an online survey on the subject «The issue of higher education» . Students of Tula , Moscow and Saint Petersburg took part in it.
The first question was :
"Are you satisfied with the university you have сhosen?"
The  research has showed that the girls were more responsible while choosing the university to enter . Only 25 % of girls aren’t satisfied with the university they’ve chosen.

However  boys, in most cases are unhappy with their choice ,only 37,5 % are satisfied and 62,5 % are not .
The second question was :
"Would you like to change the university?"
and the possible answers were : «Yes»  «No»  «It's too late»
Most of the guys would prefer not to change the university , so 43,75% answered  «No» , 18,75% answered «Yes» , and the average 37,5% of students answered «It's too late»

As we see the leading option among the males was the answer «It's too late»  .
They have to to put up with the situation and study in the place that irritates them , because «It's too late» to change something.

So when you’re finding it hard to like what you’re doing, it’s important not to keep doing it. Otherwise , you can get used to it and you will deal with things that do not interest you for the rest of your life.
Let us turn to the third question :
"Would you like to give up the university ?"
the possible answers were : «Yes»  «No»  «I don't want to join the army»
Speaking about this issue I am going to take into account only the male’s opinion.

18,75% of boys answered «Yes» and the same amount answered «No» . The leading position was  «I don't want to join the army». The research shows that most guys prefer to continue education at the disliked university rather than join the army.

It's widely accepted that many young men attempt to dodge the draft. They sometimes pay thousands of dollars in bribes to doctors or military officials to gain an exemption. They don’t want to lose a year  willingly.

Due to the fact that most young people just put up with the circumstances we have unskilled professionals who are not devoted to their work. You can and should find enjoyment in your studies and work. Doing so is very valuable to your life in many ways, including greatly increasing your probability of financial success.

It is critical to distinguish between the job and the way you do it. This is important because every job has aspects that will be very unpleasant for you. You need to be able to get through them with a smile on your face.We all need to love life to fully benefit from it. Someone who is passionate about their job achieves more success in life. So, if you want to be a successful person you have to love what you're doing.

The Importance of Music

Music is the greatest creation of humanity which we can hear everyday and everywhere. We are always surrounded with different melodies and sounds. Music is a part of our lives whether we realize it or not. But do we really need music in our lives? Can we live without it? Can we get used to silence? Is music really important?

So, I’ve decided to ask some questions about the importance of music in our lives. Participants of my survey are mostly students  aged 18 to 25.

And the first question is…

According to this diagram we can see that most of the young people we asked listen to music almost every day. And it’s quite obvious because almost every student has his or her own cell-phone nowadays. And they can listen to his music whenever they want. Of course there are people who don’t need to do it everyday and everywhere but there are few of them.

But it doesn’t show us that music is really important in life of young people. For example, people who smoke everyday realize that they can live without their bad habit and most of them want to get rid of it. So, we need some more details to understand the role of music.

As we can see people actually don’t know if music is important for them or not. Most of surveyed say, that they just listen to music while they’re on the way to their universities, in the bus for example, or they use it as a background.

However, there are so many ways of using music as a background. Homework is a good example. I mean, people like to listen to music to concentrate on their study and it really helps them in it. Music makes education more enjoyable.

It's not surprising that music makes you feel some emotions. I’m sure that you can remember a moment where a song has made you particularly sad or very excited and happy.

And most of surveyed agree that music creates a mood. Some of them even said that music helps them in difficult times. Moreover, sometimes it helps them to express their own emotions. Music is a good way to communicate with people.

But the most important question is…

Actually we can’t. Music is an essential part of our lives whether we agree with it or not. In fact, music can best be described as wonderful force that is capable of bonding people together, that helps express our emotions and create a good mood. Some of people don’t realize how important music is but according to results of this survey we can see that music surrounds people in their everyday life.

Public prefers cellular phone to be healthy lifestyle.

The public is quite concerned about the question of enjoying their green old age. It's one of the main questions of our time. The majority of the respondents were between 18 and 25 years old. This age is more connected of over using cellular phones. All people have a cellular phones, it’s is not news.

More then 90 per cent of respondents use their phones every day.

Nearly 70 per cent of respondents strongly agree that using their phones is harmful for their health. But about 20 per cent of people only agree with it. The bad news is

Only 23 per cent of public say that they can live without their mobile. It's horrible. Not all people use their phone to call.

About 45 per cent of people use their phones to call. And respondents says that they are using their cellular to play only. It’s about 75 per cent. But statistics show that more than 85 percent of the respondents answered strongly agree on this question. It’s a good result.
The effect of mobile phone radiation on human health is a subject of interest and study worldwide, as a result of the enormous increase in mobile phone usage throughout the world. As of November 2011, there were more than 6 billion subscriptions worldwide. Mobile phones use electromagnetic radiation in the microwave range. Other digital wireless systems, such as data communication networks, produce similar radiation.

Tula yacht club gave a mini-regatta on the river Voronka

Activists of Tula yacht club ‘Admiral’ arranged the symbolic closing ceremony of yacht-season 2015.
On 24 of October the symbolic closing ceremony of yacht-season 2015 was held on the storage reservoir of Voronka in Tula region. The event was arranged by Youth Patriotic center ‘Yunga’(Юнга) named behalf V.F.Rudnev. It was supported by the State inspectorate on undersized Tula region’s courts and social organization ‘The expedition of sea and underwater research’.
In the mini-regatta on Voronka the dinghies ‘Yunon’(Юнон), ‘Avoska’(Авоська), ‘Pioneer’ and ‘Lorik’ made by Tula craftsmen took part. Not only builders of the dinghies and employees of the center ‘Yunga’ but their pupils studied the water area of the storage reservoir. Also all of them are active members of the yacht club ‘Admiral’ and they participate in building of new boats. The young people were supported by their parents some of who are capable of driving the dinghy.

The weather and the wind let the participants of the ceremony try their hands in driving the boats.

Student survey: Social Networks Addiction

Everything is possible in our time of high technologies and increasing progress. Sometimes most absurd things become a reality. So, what about social network addiction?
Nowadays people, especially young generation, satisfy their needs to communicate with social networks. They often disregard opportunities to go to public entertainment places, visit friends and avoid face-to-face talking, replacing it all with a virtual “life”. They even started to take photos in order not to keep a pleasant moment in memory but to publish it in social networks and get positive comments.
The purpose of this survey was to identify the total number of people using social networks, which of them are most popular among students, to find out the reasons of their registration on such sites and how much time they spent there.
According to the survey, 100% of respondents have access to the Internet and use at least one social network.  More than 90% of them check their profile several times a day.
The next question shows us which social networks students use mostly. Almost 100% of the responders use VKontakte, about 55% of them also use Instagram and 48% use Facebook.  Only 18% use Twitter and Odnoklassniki. About 8% mention other social networks such as MySpace, Tumblr, Diary and others.

About two thirds of respondents created their accounts because of friends or hobbies. 12% registered because of own curiosity, and others say that they don’t remember.
Then the question is about spending time on the Internet. The results seem disappointing, because the biggest part of this time is devoted to social networks.

More than 87% of the respondents confess that they can’t delete their profile or just stop to check it without any reasons. Almost every respondent denies his or her affection to social networks, but agrees that such sites are becoming a global addiction.

In conclusion, we can say that our hypothesis was partly confirmed. One of the worst things is that people do not keep track of time they spend in social networks. There is still another half of their time that they spend to study and on other things, but it’d be much better if people spent their time on real life communication rather than virtual.

Survey of Education Abroad

On 30th October 2015 a survey was conducted among 100 students of Tula State Pedagogical University on the Internet. The purpose of the survey was to discover the preferences of Russian students in studying abroad.
The survey was conducted by means of an online survey in a social network ‘Vkontakte’. It consisted of 5 questions about popular countries and purposes of studying abroad.
More than 70% of the students said they would like to study abroad while less than 30% did not like this idea.
The next issue was devoted to choosing a country where they would like to go for studying. It revealed that the majority of the respondents (more than 45%) would like to study in England meanwhile the second place was divided between Germany and the USA (about 20% for each one), and the third place was occupied by Canada (5%).

Two thirds of the students think education abroad is different from the Russian one; about 5% answered it is the same and more than 30% did not know.
About 70% of the respondents agreed that an experience of studying abroad could change the world outlook completely, more than 10% disagreed and more than 20% did not know.
The last question was to find out the purpose of education abroad. Thus about half of the students would study abroad to improve the level of the foreign language while about 30% would go there for their own development. At the same time, more than 15% would study to get a job of their dreams and only 10% would study abroad for pleasure.

To sum up, the majority of Russian students would like to have an ability to study abroad and the best country for getting education is considered to be England due to the high quality of its education.
