Survey: Future in students' eyes

Is it really easy to be a student? Are all students satisfied with the changes they had to have after the school? Are they sure they made a right choice? Actually these questions are rather vital and I decided to pay attention to them.
In my survey “Future profession” about 200 students were involved. There were young people of different ages (17-25) who were offered some questions.

Firstly, I was interested to know about the student’s choices: did they make it consciously or they were indifferent?

According to the results, the majority of the questioned were sure in their actions. To my mind the number of “disagreed” with the first statement is quite high. We can see even 2% of “strongly disagreed” that means young people don’t enjoy their occupation now.

No doubt the most often question to every student is if they are going to link their future job with their diploma. Nowadays the most common is “no”. I could not but include such a question.

The results show quite high percentage of students having a wish to connect the future job with the speciality, at least they are going to try. About 20% are not sure but more than 10% will choose another sphere of the future occupation.
Someone regrets of the choice he/she made, someone is happy but no doubt, every one hesitated what faculty to choose. If it was really difficult or maybe not difficult at all we can find out due to the results of the next diagram:

As we can see about 50% of participants didn’t have any difficulties. But about 40% agreed it was hard. There were those who were indifferent – 10% of participants didn’t care and from my point of view this grade is rather high.

In the end, it is impossible to miss the question about satisfaction. Unfortunately it is not a surprise students don’t like the quality of education or they are disappointed in teachers’ skills etc. This survey also contained such a question.

The diagram shows more than 50% of students are satisfied with everything. More than 20% still don’t know if they were right to have made such a choice. Surprisingly the grade of “disagreed” is rather low – about 15% don’t like the occupation.

Thus according to the results of this survey I can break the stereotypes about students. It is not true they don’t think about their future or choose the speciality thinking to choose just anything. If to believe this survey most of young people don’t complain about the process of education and even  will try themselves in chosen occupation.
Let’s believe in our young and wish them good luck.

  1. I found this survey quite curious, and I'm suprised how many students got involved! The topic is actual. I like that graphics are clear and accurate and your conclusion is optimistic and engaging.
    Good job, Olya!
