Survey: Mobile phones vs technological progress

The mobile phones became a widespread only in the 90s of the last century. Many people believe that the mobile phone will soon lose its direct functions because of the rapid technological progress. The different age groups were asked about their preferences as a mobile phone (or a smartphone) users. This survey represents the opinion of people on the future of mobile phones.
Statement 1: «I often use the mobile phone to make calls»

The results: Age 16-21: 20%
                   Age 35-42: 70%
                   Age 50-65: 30%

As we see, the people at the age of 16-21 make calls less often than other groups. They explain this by saying they have no need to spend money on calls.

Statement 2: «I often use the mobile phone to SMS messages»

The results: Age 16-21: 50%
                   Age 35-42: 30%
                   Age 50-65: 10%

Again some of young people said that this type of communication is the «waste of money too. ». The most of people at the age of 35-42 say that touchscreen phones are not convenient for texting. For this reason, they prefer a quick call.
Statement 3: «I prefer to use special applications for calls and text messages. »

The results: Age 16-21: 90%
                   Age 35-42: 70%
                   Age 50-65: 30%

Respondents say that the use of such applications is much more convenient, faster and they need internet connection to work. The most popular applications are WhatsApp, Skype, Facetime and iMessage. People at the age of 50-65 say that they trained to use such applications to communicate with the family at a great distance.
Statement 4: «I have a positive attitude to the development of technologies in the field of mobile devices»

The results: Age 16-21: 95%
                   Age 35-42: 86%
                   Age 50-65: 50%

As it turned out, all groups understand the need to learn new technologies. Things that were new twenty years ago are losing their relevance today.  Of course, many middle-aged people are much more accustomed to traditional forms of communication (such as calls and SMS), but they are gradually adapting too.

Survey: Public is going to become obese

The health of our population is characterized as critical. Healthy lifestyle, which means healthy physical and mental health, may be one of the treasures nowdays.

Unfortunately, according to the survey, only 14 % lead a healthy lifestyle and a majority, about 60 %, do not follow healthy rules.
However, from the research, we can see that 36, 7 % of respondents strongly agree that it is necessary to lead a healthy lifestyle and 56, 9 % of adults agree that healthy living is important.

Citizens living in the modern society may not lead a healthy lifestyle, because they might be stuck with heavy work and everyday routine. Also, a high cost of proper nutrition, gyms and other recreational facilities could cause this problem. Seven out of ten respondents (72%) said that «to lead a healthy life style is very expensive».

Nonetheless, people do not refuse themselves to spend money on such things as cigarettes and alcohol. The majority admitted that they smoke every day and drink alcohol about once a weak. Overall, 63,8 % are smokers: 48% of men and 20% of women. Much higher level is among 18-25 year-olds.

The overall picture is not very inspiring, 18+ year-old population shows little indication of a healthy lifestyle: young women and young men smoke; one in ten men and one in forty women drink alcohol every day; one-third of the adult population may become obese; the majority does not exercise enough.

Hence, the emphasis on healthy lifestyle should start as soon as possible. Parents must urge their children to eat more vegetables, fruits, juices, whole meal and wholegrain foods.

Summarizing, leading a healthy lifestyle is a conscious decision. One can ignore that and lead a life that exposes a big amount of health hazards. It is important to recognize that a healthy living ensures a longer life, a life free of disease and complications.

Respondents also agreed that their job is connected with their future professions and disagreed that it is difficult to combine studying and work.

Statement: Should a student have a part-time lob today? Do you work?

Statement: What are the reasons for having a part-time job?

The bad news is that many students have to work and get tired every day, but the good thing is that the majority find it easy to combine studying and work. So that, neither freshmen and sophomore students nor senior students have any difficulties with planning their day.

Statement: Is it easy for you to combine studying and job?

Hot Air Ballooning Cup.

Hot Air Ballooning Cup.
Last Friday about one hundred Balloons rose up in the sky during the third Open Cup of Tula Region of Hot Air Ballooning. The Cup is dedicated to the memory of the pilot Boris Safonov, a hero of World War II, twice Hero of the Soviet Union.
The competitions proceeded all weekend. Sportsmen from Tula, Moscow, Moscow region and Voronezh fought for the main prize. The essence of the competition is to throw a colored tape with a load from a board of a hot air balloon as accurately as possible. It should fall to a certain point, on the ground of its cross mark. The difficulty lies in the fact that the hot air balloon is controlled by means of air flows, and to change the direction, you need to change the height too. Cup completes the sports season, during which the pilots of Tula had time to take part in many competitions, as in the all-Russian and in international as well.
The competition involved six teams from Tula, Moscow and Voronezh. The most numerous appeared from Tula six crews of them rose in the sky during this event.
I asked some people who watched it about their impression and there are their answers:
“It is an amazing site, while there are about 20 balloons above your head. A pity only the weather is overcast.”
“This sight is Very nice and breathtaking. I guess this is true air sport – slowly, physically clear and beautiful.”

In Moscow took place the premiere of the musical "Singing in the rain".

On October 4th In the Moscow theatre "Russia" took place the premiere of the musical "Singing in the rain" based on the eponymous Hollywood film of 1952.The musical is set in Hollywood during the transition from silent film to sound. Two protagonists of the story are popular actors who are very good at silent films - Don Lockwood and Lina Lamont. Lina plays brilliantly in silent films, but faces challenges acting in the sound film: she has a shrill voice. To save his first sound picture. Don invites a talented young actress Kathy Selden who sings and dupes instead of Lana. The young girl has a gift for music, and her voice charmed the cast, audience and Don himself who falls for her deeply. And with that begins a typical Hollywood love story under the rain, literary. One of the main effects of the musical is a shower pouring down on the stage and spectators on the first three rows. No worries, there are rain coats provided. Daily on the stage of the theatre "Russia" there flows more than 12 tons of water.

The main roles in the musical were performed by Stas Chunikhin (Don Lockwood), Julia Willow (Kathy Selden) and Anastasia Stotskaya (Lina Lamont).
"The performance was brilliant! It is sweet, funny and so Hollywood-like. The cast was so professional we could not even say for sure who is a professional dancer or actor. The scene with the rain was pre-expected but nevertheless came without warning, and we became a little bit wet. I believe this makes a set more lively and helps to smooth this border between actors and spectators." - my friends  shared the impressions.
