Survey: Youth prefers Europe

By Olga Boronina

It’s known that the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence. This saying is also topical in the sphere of education. 70% of young Russian people say that they want to get the education abroad and 30% say that they want firstly to get the primary education in Russia.

The bad news is that the students don’t even mention Russia in the list of countries which have the most prestigious universities. The most popular answer is England, but the USA, Germany and India are favourable options as well. The majority of the correspondents say that the corruption is the main problem of Russian education. Some young people point out that there are a lot of subjects in Russia which are useless in the future profession and there are some difficulties with getting a job after university.
